Clearwater Feather Sound Rotary Club

Full Description:

The club is made up of business and professional people from Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Largo, Pinellas Park and Tampa. Due largely to where it is located, this gives us a unique opportunity to have a good diverse group of working Rotarians. We are involved in club projects in all four Rotary Avenues of Service: Community, Club, Vocational and International. Community Service Contributions, support and participation with High Point Elementary School, High Point Neighborhood Services and the High Point YMCA Contributions, support and participation with the Boys and Girl Clubs. Participation in Operation Heart Strings and Family-in-need support at Christmas. Club Service Support for Rotary's Camp Florida. A camp for children with medical, physical and emotional handicaps Fun-n-Sun fund-raiser with the Countryside, Pinellas Park and Seminole Lake clubs Participate in area fundraisers such as: Chrysler Classic Golf Tournament, Gridiron Classic All-Star Football Game, and the Rotary Rays Days at Tropicana Field.. Vocational Service Members participate in the annual "Great American Teach-In" with local schools Participate in and support annual Spaghetti Dinner for the Culinary Arts students at PTEC Sponsored four Doorway Scholarship students through the Educational Foundation scholarship program International Service Actively promote and support Rotary's Polio Eradication Committee, who's goal is to have a polio-free world by the year 2005 Active in hosting the foreign Group Study Exchange team members Financial support for water well, medical clinic and ambulance at Isle de La Gonave, Haiti The first question should be "Why be a Rotarian at all?" The best answer to that is to explain who is a Rotarian. A Rotarian is person who wants to do more than talk about how to make our world a better place but wants to actually do something about it. Rotarians don't just send money to areas of the world that are experiencing hardship, they go and provide the help they promised. Rotary is a group of like-minded individuals who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world. No one person can do this alone. By joining the Rotary Club, you become a part of this effort and are able to accomplish greater things than you would ever be able to do on your own.
